Functional Assessment Screenings

DSNWK CDDO is responsible to complete a functional assessment for all individuals determined eligible for services. The functional assessment is a screening instrument required by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) that, through a series of questions, scores the applicant in three categories: Adaptive, Maladaptive, and Health. These three scores are combined and averaged to determine the converted score which is used to determine eligibility for funding.

Training Opportunities

DSNWK CDDO makes available to the staff of all affiliates training that will comply with standards set forth by Developmental Disability Reform Rules and Regulations. The following classes are available: Healthcare classes and First Aid/CPR.

As appropriate to meet the needs of individuals served, if managing behavior may include the need for physical restraint, staff are required to be trained in crisis intervention training. There are several training curriculums in existence that may be used to provide crisis intervention training.
